London, UK: With privacy regulations increasing across the world and cyber security risks becoming more prevalent and damaging, managing sensitive data and protecting our systems against information security breaches is paramount. Therefore, XConnect is proud to announce that its Number Information Services business has successfully been audited and attained the formal ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification, the globally recognised gold standard for Information Security Management Systems.

XConnect is committed to making security part of its everyday working practices as evident by XConnect being a founding signatory of the Mobile Ecosystem Forum’s A2P SMS Code of Conduct, Trust in Enterprise Messaging (TEM). This ISO 27001:2013 certification of compliance is formally certified by independent auditors accredited by the ANAB Management Systems Certification Body, the largest accreditation body in North America and serving more than 75 countries.

This certification enhances trust in the supply chain and further validates XConnect’s dedication to providing the highest levels of security. The ISO 27001: 2013 certificate is critical when partnering with Mobile Network Operators, Carrier and Messaging providers to manage sensitive network and subscriber information, especially for information subject to new data protection regulations, such as General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). As XConnect expands its fraud, risk and advanced routing services to its global telecoms and identity customers, it is increasingly managing sensitive data with additional privacy and security requirements.

ISO 27001 is the internationally recognised standard for information security to protect against internal and external threats. It includes 114 controls in 35 categories covering all aspects of the business including: people, processes, and technology. While more companies are realising the value of ISO certifications, the certification process remains a significant undertaking. A 2018 ISO survey showed that only 872 Information Technology companies worldwide reached this achievement.1

XConnect’s CEO and Founder, Eli Katz, stated “Our partners, customers and suppliers including leading MNOs, Carriers and Tier 1 Business Messaging operators acknowledge the value and achievement of this globally-recognised, independently-audited certification and provides them with the confidence and trust they need. I congratulate the XConnect team for achieving this ISO/IEC 27001: 2013 certification, a one year project requiring significant resources with a diverse technical, operational and management skill sets impacting every department and office across the company.”
