Carrier Community Global Awards 2021 shortlist

XConnect is delighted to have been shortlisted for ‘best voice/data service innovation’ at The Carrier Community Global Awards 2021. We have been recognised for our solution for tackling Origin Based Rating (OBR) using number intelligence.

The CC Global Awards recognise innovations and achievements among telecom wholesale operators and ecosystem partners around the world. They are independently judged by a panel of telecom analysts and experts from the industry.

Our entry was focused on how we enhance our customers’ data with global numbering intelligence to help stop losses from OBR. With OBR being introduced across a growing number of markets globally, it’s important that carriers understand the risks and take the necessary steps to reduce the impact on their business.

OBR has been deployed in many EU countries and is growing across the rest of the world. In Q3 of 2019, we identified more than 12% of calls had an invalid CLI in a single market, which resulted in losses exceeding $200,000 in a single month.  One year later, a new case study across 6 markets revealed 75% of Invalid CLIs were either the wrong length or belonged to unallocated number ranges.

At XConnect, we enhance our customers’ capabilities with complete, accurate and up-to-date number plan information for each country. We enable them to expand their data sets, to mitigate OBR surcharges, capture higher margins, accurately price their services, never turn away new business, reduce resources spent on disputes, and route traffic with confidence.

If you want to learn more about OBR, you can contact us today to see how we can expand your data sets, enhance your capabilities and stop future losses from OBR.
