Telecommunications companies are at the centre of global communication. They handle massive amounts of sensitive data, operate critical infrastructure and are prime targets for cyberattacks and those wishing to cause harm.

As cybersecurity threats continue to evolve and become more complex, those in the industry must take proactive steps to protect their secure data and information. One of the most effective ways to achieve this is through ISO 27001 certification.
ISO 27001 is an internationally recognised gold-standard. It provides a rigid checklist for managing risks, securing data and ensuring business continuity in the event of a catastrophic event.

ISO 27001 helps organisations like ours implement vigorous security measures, reducing the risk of data breaches and non-compliance penalties.
In order to achieve ISO 27001 certification, companies are required to identify, assess and pro-actively plan for these instances effectively.

Whilst we’ve always been security minded at XConnect, over the past 6 years the standard has formalised and refined our constantly evolving processes. It emphasises the importance of identifying and assessing Information Security risks and then we’re able to implement the appropriate controls to mitigate or manage them effectively. We have a mindset of continuous improvement here and the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle of ISO 27001 supports this as threats evolve.

Reducing these threats and planning for these incidents, however unfortunate, increases stability throughout the telecoms industry and helps to increase Trust in Telecoms as a whole.

By achieving ISO 27001 re-certification, XConnect has once again demonstrated a proven track record in following global best practices for information security.  This allows us to meet the strict security requirements that have been placed on Number Information Service(s) providers by both Government and Industry Regulators, ensuring we are fully compliant – helping us to gain a greater level of trust from our customers.
ISO 27001 certification is not just a checkbox for compliance—it’s a well-planned, carefully executed investment in business continuity and security across our systems.

We are incredibly proud of everyone in our XConnect teams that have helped to once again achieve this re-certification.
