XConnect Shortlisted for Best Voice Service Innovation at Capacity’s Global Carrier Awards 2020

XConnect has been nominated for ‘Best Voice Service Innovation’ in Capacity’s Global Carrier Awards 2020. We have been recognised for our commitment in enhancing our carrier customers’ data, by developing our global numbering intelligence, and finding a solution for tackling Origin Based Rating (OBR).

For 15 years Capacity’s Global Carrier Awards (GCAs) have brought together the telecoms industry to celebrate the achievements and innovations that have transformed our industry as we know it today. Leading figures from across the telecoms community have assessed and scored each submission, using their own expertise and knowledge to shortlist more than 100 businesses and individuals on the impact they have made in the telecom industry.

Our entry was focused on enhancing our customers’ data with global numbering intelligence to stop future losses from OBR. With OBR being introduced across a growing number of markets globally, it’s important that carriers understand the risks and take the necessary steps to reduce the impact on their business.

OBR has been deployed in more than 10 EU countries and is growing across the Middle East and North Africa. In Q3 of 2019, we identified more than 12% of calls had an invalid CLI in a single market, which resulted in losses exceeding $200,000 in a single month.  One year later, a new case study across 6 markets revealed 75% of Invalid CLIs were either the wrong length or belonged to unallocated number ranges.
