sentit0 Networks and XConnect Partner to Advance VoIP Peering

Rome, Italy -- VON ROME -- October 25, 2006—XConnect, the world’s largest provider of “Plug and Peer” Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) peering services and operator of the XConnect Alliance, and sentitO Networks, a leading provider of intelligent voice gateway and signaling solutions for telecommunications service providers worldwide, today announced the successful interoperability and integration of sentitO’s Proxy7 Signaling Gateway with the XConnect network and ENUM registry at VON Italy, in Rome.

sentitO Networks is now certified as an XConnect Ready™ partner, and XConnect is certified as a sentitO Open Network Xchange (ONX) Partner. Service providers using the Proxy7 Signaling Gateway to bridge between the PSTN and VoIP can now substantially reduce their termination costs to VoIP numbers in the XConnect ENUM registry. The Proxy7 Signaling Gateway can seamlessly identify via a query of the XConnect Registry which calls can be terminated directly to VoIP service providers. VoIP Operators that subscribe to XConnect’s peering services can now leverage the Proxy7 Signaling Gateway to bridge between the PSTN and VoIP traffic. As a result, sentitO service provider customers will be able to enjoy the benefits of XConnect’s multilateral peering services, including higher quality of service and reduced costs for terminating VoIP calls to the millions of Internet Telephony numbers in the XConnect registry.

“Today’s service providers are interested in reducing their termination costs and improving their margins by identifying wholesale traffic that is destined for VoIP networks and sending it directly to the service provider that owns the number,” said Eli Katz, XConnect CEO. “We’re very pleased to partner with VoIP equipment leaders like sentitO as the VoIP Peering market evolves.” “We’re committed to provide service providers with the most innovative and costeffective technology solutions to grow their businesses with new IP applications,” said Shaun Donnelly, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, sentitO Networks. “ENUM implementation and peering solutions are key areas of focus for sentitO and our work with XConnect is further testament to that commitment.” XConnect enables feature-rich multi-media communication between VoIP service providers around the world by bypassing the PSTN and also provides PSTN carriers and operators with an efficient and low-cost means to terminate calls destined for VoIP subscribers.

The XConnect Alliance and Federations are carrier-neutral services that deliver complete interoperability, ENUM Directory Management and identity resolution in a secure environment for the interconnection of XConnect Members, including voice over broadband providers, application service providers and VoIP carriers. The Certified XConnect Ready Partner Program is designed to create an ecosystem of pre-tested vendors and solutions to facilitate peering. sentitO’s ONX product portfolio includes the IVG1200 Intelligent Voice Gateway, Proxy7 Signaling Gateway, and PreVision Network Manager. The Proxy7 Signaling Gateway bridges the gap between VoIP networks and the PSTN with combined SIP Proxy Server and SS7/C7 Signaling, enabling VoIP Providers to cost-effectively terminate SIP-based voice traffic onto the PSTN.
