Cantata and XConnect Partner to Advance VoIP Peering

London, England -- June 27th, 2007 - XConnect, the world's largest provider of Federated VoIP Peering services based on ENUM, and operator of the XConnect Alliance, XConnect DirectRoute and Private Federations, and Cantata TechnologyTM, one of the world's leading independent providers of enabling communications technology, today announced the successful interoperability and integration of Cantata's IMG 1010TM Integrated Media and Signaling VoIP Gateway with XConnect's neutral, secure suite of Federated VoIP Peering Services and the XConnect ENUM registry. Cantata Technology is now certified as an XConnect ReadyTM partner. Service providers using Cantata's award winning IMG 1010 platform can now substantially reduce their termination costs by querying the XConnect ENUM registry. The IMG 1010 can query the XConnect Registry via SIP and ENUM methodologies to identify routing details for over 300 Million telephone numbers operated by over 400 service providers. Service providers subscribing to XConnect's peering services can now leverage the IMG 1010 to bridge between the PSTN and VoIP traffic, and enable new hosted and dedicated softswitch based applications. As a result, Cantata's clients will be able to experience the "Plug & Peer" benefits of XConnect's multilateral peering services, including higher quality of service and reduced costs for terminating VoIP calls to the millions of telephone numbers in the XConnect registry. "Today's service providers are interested in reducing their termination costs and improving their margins by identifying wholesale traffic that is destined for VoIP networks and sending it directly to the service provider that owns the number," said Eli Katz, XConnect CEO. "We're very pleased to partner with VoIP equipment leaders like
Cantata as the VoIP Peering market evolves." "XConnect is one of the leaders in the VoIP peering space and Cantata is very pleased to become an XConnect Ready partner," said Timothy L. Murray, chief executive officer, Cantata Technology. Our recent release of ENUM support on the IMG 1010, along with XConnect's peer service, will give carrier customers reduced operating expenses, faster connection times and improved call quality." XConnect enables feature-rich multimedia communication between VoIP service providers, and provides carriers and operators with an efficient and low-cost means to terminate calls. The XConnect Alliance, DirectRoute and Private Federations are carrierneutral services that deliver complete interoperability, ENUM Registry Management and identity resolution in a secure environment for the interconnection of XConnect Members, including voice over broadband providers, application service providers and VoIP carriers. The Certified XConnect Ready Partner Program is designed to create an ecosystem of pre-tested vendors and solutions to facilitate peering.
